 Yes Or No?

"This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." (John 17:3)

If God were to give professing believers a quiz on Christianity, many would score well. They would be able to answer "Yes, it's true" to questions such as:
Did Christ die for your sins?
Did He rise from the dead?
Is He coming back to earth?

Pastor and author Bruce Larson says that he grew up saying yes to these types of biblical doctrines. But eventually he sensed that God was asking him some new questions:

1. Will you trust Me with your life, yes or no?
2. Will you entrust yourself to My church family, yes or no?
3. Will you serve Me by getting involved with others, yes or no? Only when Larson said yes to these questions did God become real in his life.

To the religious leaders of His day, Jesus said, "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life"
(John 5:39-40). Jesus was saying, in effect, "You can answer true to many facts of Scripture, but you won't say yes to Me."

Can you say you agree with many facts in the written Word but you haven't said yes to Christ, the Living Word? Then do it now, and Jesus will turn your head knowledge into a life-changing heart knowledge.

 “예”, “아니요”

“영생은 곧 유일하신 참 하나님과 그의 보내신 자 예수 그리스도를 아는 것이니이다” (요한복음 17:3)

● 말씀을 생각하며 ●
만약 하나님께서 예수를 믿는다고 하는 사람들에게 기독교 신앙에 대해 시험 문제를 내신다면 많은 사람들은 좋은 점수를 받을 것입니다. 사람들은 “예수님은 당신의 죄를 위하여 돌아가셨나요?”, “예수님은 죽음에서 부활하셨나요?”, “예수님은 이 땅에 다시 오실 것인가요?”와 같은 질문에 “예, 그렇습니다” 라고 답할 수 있을 것입니다.

목사이며 작가인 브루스 라슨은 이런 식의 성경 교리에 “예”라고 답하며 자랐다고 말합니다. 그러나 나중에 그는 하나님께서 다음과 같은 새로운 질문을 하고 계시다는 것을 느끼게 되었다고 합니다.
1. 너의 생명을 걸고 나를 믿을 수 있겠느냐?
2. 하나님의 교회에 너 자신을 맡기겠느냐?
3. 다른 이들과 힘을 합해 나를 섬기겠느냐?
라슨이 이러한 질문에 “예”라고 대답을 하자 비로소 하나님께서 그의 삶에 현실로 다가 오셨다고 합니다.

예수님은 당시의 종교 지도자들에게 “너희가 성경에서 영생을 얻는 줄 생각하고 성경을 상고하거니와 이 성경이 곧 내게 대하여 증거하는 것이로다. 그러나 너희가 영생을 얻기 위하여 내게 오기를 원하지 아니하는도다”(요 5:39-40)라고 말씀하셨습니다.
사실상 예수님은 “너희가 성경에 있는 많은 사실에 대하여는 "네" 라고 하지만, 나에 대하여는 ' 네' 라고 하지 않는구나”라고 말씀하신 것입니다.

여러분도 문자로 된 성경 말씀의 많은 사실에는 동의하면서도 살아있는 말씀이신 주님께는 “예” 하지 않은 것은 아닙니까? 그렇다면 지금 대답하십시오. 그러면 예수님은 당신의 머릿속의 지식을 삶을 바꾸는 가슴의 지식으로 바꾸어 주실 것입니다.

하나님 말씀의 진리에 머리로만 생각하여 동의하는 것은
하나님이 원하시는 답이 아닙니다.
진심으로 완전히 주님께 의존하는 것이
하나님 아버지께서 원하시는 것입니다.
