💙 진정한 정체성

 ✝  요한1서 2:28 - 3:10 

“보라 아버지께서 어떠한 사랑을 우리에게 베푸사 하나님의 자녀라 일컬음을 받게 하셨는가”[요한1서 3:1]

친구는 내가 찍은 그녀의 사진들을 보더니 그녀가 보기에 불완전해 보이는 자기 몸의 여러 특징들을 꼬집어 내며 언급했습니다. 나는 친구에게 사진을 좀 더 자세히 보라고 하면서, “내 눈에는 전능하신 만왕의 왕의 아름답고 사랑스러운 딸이 보이는데.”라고 말했습니다.  “하나님과 사람들을 진심으로 알고 사랑하는 사람, 진실로 친절하고 관대하고 신실해서 아주 많은 사람들의 삶을 바꾸어 놓은 사람이 보여.” 친구의 눈에 눈물이 글썽이는 것을 보며 나는 “네게 필요한 것은 자그마한 왕관이야!”라고 말했습니다. 그날 오후 우리는 친구가 자신의 진정한 정체성을 절대 잊지 못할, 그녀에게 꼭 맞는 왕관을 선택했습니다.

예수님을 인격적으로 알게 될 때 주님은 우리에게 사랑으로 관을 씌우시며 하나님의 자녀라고 부르십니다(요한1서 3:1). 그리고 우리에게 믿음으로 인내할 수 있는 능력을 주셔서 “그가 강림하실 때에 우리로 담대함을 얻어 그 앞에서 부끄럽지 않게”(2:28) 하십니다. 주님은 우리를 있는 그대로 받아 주시지만 주님의 사랑은 우리를 깨끗하게 하고 주님과 같은 모습으로 변화시켜 줍니다 (3:2-3). 주님은 우리에게 그분이 필요하다는 것을 깨닫게 하시고, 우리를 죄에서 돌이키게 하시는 그 능력으로 기쁨 가운데 회개하게 도우십니다(7-9 절). 우리는 우리 마음속에 감춰져 있는 주님의 진리와 우리 삶에 임재하시는 성령님과 더불어 신실하게 순종하며 사랑으로 살아갈 수 있습니다(10절).

그날 내 친구에게 작은 왕관이나 다른 장신구가 정말 필요한 것은 아니었지만, 우리 두 사람에게는 하나님의 사랑하는 자녀로서 우리의 가치를 다시 기억나게할 어떤 것이 필요했던 것입니다.

당신의 결점이나 과거의 실패가 자신의 정체성을 결정짓도록 한 적이 있습니까? 
하나님의 자녀로서 사랑받고 선택받고 면류관을 받았다는 것을 알면 의와 사랑 안에서 사는데 어떻게 도움이 될까요?

<사랑의 하나님, 제가 누구인지는 제가 누구의 것인지에 달려있다는 것을 깨닫게 해주셔서 감사합니다. 저는 하나님의 것, 오직 하나님의 것입니다.>

28. 자녀들아 이제 그의 안에 거하라 이는 주께서 나타내신 바 되면 그가 강림하실 때에 우리로 담대함을 얻어 그 앞에서 부끄럽지 않게 하려 함이라 29. 너희가 그가 의로우신 줄을 알면 의를 행하는 자마다 그에게서 난 줄을 알리라 1. 보라 아버지께서 어떠한 사랑을 우리에게 베푸사 하나님의 자녀라 일컬음을 받게 하셨는가, 우리가 그러하도다 그러므로 세상이 우리를 알지 못함은 그를 알지 못함이라 2. 사랑하는 자들아 우리가 지금은 하나님의 자녀라 장래에 어떻게 될지는 아직 나타나지 아니하였으나 그가 나타나시면 우리가 그와 같을 줄을 아는 것은 그의 참모습 그대로 볼 것이기 때문이니 3. 주를 향하여 이 소망을 가진 자마다 그의 깨끗하심과 같이 자기를 깨끗하게 하느니라 4. 죄를 짓는 자마다 불법을 행하나니 죄는 불법이라 5. 그가 우리 죄를 없애려고 나타나신 것을 너희가 아나니 그에게는 죄가 없느니라 6. 그 안에 거하는 자마다 범죄하지 아니하나니 범죄하는 자마다 그를 보지도 못하였고 그를 알지도 못하였느니라 7. 자녀들아 아무도 너희를 미혹하지 못하게 하라 의를 행하는 자는 그의 의로우심과 같이 의롭고 8. 죄를 짓는 자는 마귀에게 속하나니 마귀는 처음부터 범죄함이라 하나님의 아들이 나타나신 것은 마귀의 일을 멸하려 하심이라 9. 하나님께로부터 난 자마다 죄를 짓지 아니하나니 이는 하나님의 씨가 그의 속에 거함이요 그도 범죄하지 못하는 것은 하나님께로부터 났음이라 10. 이러므로 하나님의 자녀들과 마귀의 자녀들이 드러나나니 무릇 의를 행하지 아니하는 자나 또는 그 형제를 사랑하지 아니하는 자는 하나님께 속하지 아니하니

💙 TRUE IDENTITY

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! “
[ 1 JOHN 3:1 ]

As my friend reviewed the pictures I took of her, she pointed out the physical characteristics she saw as imperfections. I asked her to look closer. “I see a beautiful and beloved daughter of the Almighty King of Kings,” I said. “I see a compassionate lover of God and others, whose genuine kindness, generosity, and faithfulness have made a difference in so many lives.” 
When I noticed the tears brimming her eyes, I said, “I think you need a tiara!” 
Later that afternoon, we picked out the perfect crown for my friend so she would never forget her true identity.

When we come to know Jesus personally, He crowns us with love and calls us His children(1 JOHN 3:1). 
He gives us the power to persevere in faith so that “we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming” (2:28).

Though He accepts us as we are, His love purifies us and transforms us into His likeness (3:2–3). 
He helps us recognize our need for Him and repent as we rejoice in the power to turn away from sin (VV. 7-9). We can live in faithful obedience and love (V. 10), with His truth hidden in our hearts and His Spirit present in our lives.

My friend didn’t really need a tiara or any other trinket that day. 
But we both needed the reminder of our worth as God’s beloved children.

28. And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. 29. If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him. 1. How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. 4. Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. 5. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. 6. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. 7. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8. He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. 9. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do     what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother
