💙 깨어진 삶을 치유하시는 하나님

✝  에베소서 2:1 - 2:10

“ 너희는 그 은혜에 의하여 믿음으로 말미암아 구원을 받았으니 “. (에베소서 2:8)

콜린과 그의 아내 조던은 공예품 가게를 돌아다니며 집에 걸어 놓을 그림을 찾고 있었습니다. 딱 맞는 작품을 찾았다고 생각한 콜린은 아내를 불러 자기가 고른 도자기 작품을 보라고 했습니다.

그 도자기의 오른쪽에 ‘은혜’라는 단어가 새겨져 있었습니다. 그런데 왼쪽에 두 개의 긴 균열이 나 있었습니다. “깨진 거네요!” 조던은 그렇게 말하며 선반에서 깨지지 않은 온전한 것을 찾기 시작했습니다.

그러자 콜린은 이렇게 말했습니다. “아니, 그게 중요한 점이에요. 우리도 깨어졌고, 그러고 나서 은혜가 들어왔어요.” 그들 부부는 그 깨진 것을 구입하기로 했습니다. 계산대에 갔더니 점원이 놀라서 말했습니다. “이런, 깨어졌네요!” “예, 우리도 그래요.” 조던이 속삭였습니다.

깨어진” 사람이 된다는 것은 무엇을 의미할까요? 어떤 사람은 그것을 이렇게 정의했습니다. 살면서 우리가 아무리 노력해도 우리의 살아가는 능력이 더 나아지기는커녕 더 나빠진다는 것을 차츰 깨닫는 것이라고 말입니다.

그것은 바로 우리의 삶에 하나님과 그분의 개입이 필요하다는 사실을 깨닫는 것입니다.

바울 사도는 “[우리의] 허물과 죄로 죽었다”(에베소서 2:1)는 관점에서 우리의 깨어진 삶에 대해 말합니다. 우리가 왜 용서받고 변화되어야 하는지에 대한 답은 4절과 5절에 나와 있습니다. “긍휼이 풍성하신 하나님이 우리를 사랑하신 그 큰 사랑을 인하여... 우리를... 살리셨고 [우리는] 은혜로 구원을 받은 것이라.”

우리가 “깨어졌다”는 것을 인정하면 하나님은 그분의 은혜로 깨어진 우리의 삶을 기꺼이 치유해 주십니다.

1. 그는 허물과 죄로 죽었던 너희를 살리셨도다 2. 그 때에 너희는 그 가운데서 행하여 이 세상 풍조를 따르고 공중의 권세 잡은 자를 따랐으니 곧 지금 불순종의 아들들 가운데서 역사하는 영이라 3. 전에는 우리도 다 그 가운데서 우리 육체의 욕심을 따라 지내며 육체와 마음의 원하는 것을 하여 다른 이들과 같이 본질상 진노의 자녀이었더니 4. 긍휼이 풍성하신 하나님이 우리를 사랑하신 그 큰 사랑을 인하여 5. 허물로 죽은 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨고 (너희는 은혜로 구원을 받은 것이라) 6. 또 함께 일으키사 그리스도 예수 안에서 함께 하늘에 앉히시니 7. 이는 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리에게 자비하심으로써 그 은혜의 지극히 풍성함을 오는 여러 세대에 나타내려 하심이라 8. 너희는 그 은혜에 의하여 믿음으로 말미암아 구원을 받았으니 이것은 너희에게서 난 것이 아니요 하나님의 선물이라 9. 행위에서 난 것이 아니니 이는 누구든지 자랑하지 못하게 함이라 10. 우리는 그가 만드신 바라 그리스도 예수 안에서 선한 일을 위하여 지으심을 받은 자니 이 일은 하나님이 전에 예비하사 우리로 그 가운데서 행하게 하려 하심이니라

 

💙 GOD HEALS OUR BROKENNESS

✝  Ephesians 2:1 - 2:10

“ By grace you have been saved, through faith. “(EPHESIANS 2:8)

Collin and his wife, Jordan, wandered through the craft store, looking for a picture to hang in their home. Collin thought he’d found just the right piece and called Jordan over to see it.

On the right side of the ceramic artwork was the word grace. But the left side held two long cracks. “Well, it’s broken!” Jordan said as she started looking for an unbroken one on the shelf. But then Collin said, “No. That’s the point. We’re broken and then grace comes in—period.” They decided to purchase the one with the cracks.

When they got to the checkout, the clerk exclaimed, “Oh, no, it’s broken!” “Yes, so are we,” Jordan whispered.

What does it mean to be a “broken” person?

Someone defined it this way:

A growing awareness that no matter how hard we try, our ability to make life work gets worse instead of better. It’s a recognition of our need for God and His intervention in our lives.

The apostle Paul talked about our brokenness in terms of being “dead in [our] transgressions and sins” (EPHESIANS 2:1).

The answer to our need to be forgiven and changed comes in verses 4 and 5: “Because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive . . . [It] is by grace [we] have been saved.”

God is willing to heal our brokenness with His grace when we admit, “I’m broken.”  ANNE CETA

All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. 4. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5. made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions -- it is by grace you have been saved. 6. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7. in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- 9. not by works, so that no one can boast. 10. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
