 다양함의 행진

♡ 요한계시록 5:7 - 5:14 

“ 각 족속과 방언과 나라 가운데서 사람들을 피로 사서 하나님께 드리시고 “

(요한계시록 5:9)

수십 년 동안 런던은 문화적으로 가장 범세계적인 도시들 중 하나였다. 

1933년 저널리스트 글린 로버츠는 영국의 위대한 수도 런던에 대해 이렇게 썼다.

 “나는 아직도 런던에서 볼 수 있는 최고의 것은 다양한 사람들, 다양한 색깔들, 다양한 언어들의 행진이라고 생각합니다.” 

그 “행진”은 오늘날도 뒤섞인 냄새와 소리, 그리고 지구촌 광경의 하나로 여전히 두드러져 보인다.

그 다양함이 보여주는 아름다움은 세계에서 가장 위대한 도시가운데 런던의 기막힌 매력의 한 부분을 이루고 있다. 

그러나 사람이 사는 여느 도시처럼 런던도 문제가 없지 않다.변화는 어려움을 가져오고, 때때로 문화가 서로 충돌하기도 한다.

그것은 사람이 만든 어느 도시도 우리의 영원한 본향이 가진 경이로움과 비교될 수 없는 이유이기도 하다.

사도 요한이 하나님 앞에 섰을 때 다양성은 천국 예배의 한 요소였습니다. 

구원받은 성도들은 함께 이렇게 노래했습니다. 

“두루마리를 가지시고 그 인봉을 떼기에 합당하시도다 일찍이 죽임을 당하사 각 족속과 방언과 백성과 나라 가운데에서 사람들을 피로 사서 하나님께 드리시고 그들로 우리 하나님 앞에서 나라와 제사장들을 삼으셨으니 그들이 땅에서 왕 노릇 하리로다” (요한계시록 5:9-10).

살아 계신 하나님의 자녀가 된 놀라운 사실을 기뻐하며 세상의 여러 그룹의 사람들이 함께 행진하는 천국의 모습을 상상해 보십시오! 

예수님을 믿는 신자로서 오늘 그 다양성을 기뻐하는 우리가 될 수 있기를 바랍니다.

교회가 아주 다양해지면서 가장 좋은 점은 무엇입니까? 

그 다양성이 가끔 어떤 어려움을 초래하나요?

< 하나님 아버지, 어느 그룹의 사람들도 하나님의 크신 사랑에서 제외되지 않음에 감사드립니다. 

하나님께서 우리를 그렇게 너그럽게 사랑하신 것처럼 우리도 다른 사람들을 진심으로 사랑할 수 있도록 가르쳐 주소서.>

7. 그 어린 양이 나아와서 보좌에 앉으신 이의 오른손에서 두루마리를 취하시니라

8. 그 두루마리를 취하시매 네 생물과 이십사 장로들이 그 어린 양 앞에 엎드려 각각 거문고와 향이 가득한 금 대접을 가졌으니 이 향은 성도의 기도들이라

9. 그들이 새 노래를 불러 이르되 두루마리를 가지시고 그 인봉을 떼기에 합당하시도다 일찍이 죽임을 당하사 각 족속과 방언과 백성과 나라 가운데에서 사람들을 피로 사서 하나님께 드리시고

10. 그들로 우리 하나님 앞에서 나라와 제사장들을 삼으셨으니 그들이 땅에서 왕 노릇 하리로다 하더라

11. 내가 또 보고 들으매 보좌와 생물들과 장로들을 둘러 선 많은 천사의 음성이 있으니 그 수가 만만이요 천천이라

12. 큰 음성으로 이르되 죽임을 당하신 어린 양은 능력과 부와 지혜와 힘과 존귀와 영광과 찬송을 받으시기에 합당하도다 하더라

13. 내가 또 들으니 하늘 위에와 땅 위에와 땅 아래와 바다 위에와 또 그 가운데 모든 피조물이 이르되 보좌에 앉으신 이와 어린 양에게 찬송과 존귀와 영광과 권능을 세세토록 돌릴지어다 하니

14. 네 생물이 이르되 아멘 하고 장로들은 엎드려 경배하더라

 A PARADE OF COLORS

“ With your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. “

( REVELATION 5:9 )

For decades, London has been one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. 

In 1933, journalist Glyn Roberts wrote of England’s great capital, “I still think the parade of peoples and colours and tongues is just about the best thing in London.” 

That “parade” is still in evidence today with the blended smells, sounds, and sights of a global community. 

The beauty of diversity is part of the breathtaking appeal of one of the world’s greatest cities.

As with any city inhabited by human beings, however, London is not without its problems. 

Change brings challenges. Cultures sometimes clash. And that is one of the reasons no city built by human hands can compare to the wonder of our eternal home.

When the apostle John was transported into the presence of God, diversity was one of the elements of heavenly worship, as the redeemed sang,

“You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth” (REVELATION 5:9–10).

Imagine heaven: a parade of every people group in the world celebrating the wonder of being children of the living God—together! As believers in Jesus, may we celebrate that diversity today.

What are the best things about the church being so diverse? 

What can make that diversity occasionally challenging?

< Father, I thank You that no people group is excluded from Your great love. 

Teach us to truly love one another, as You have so generously loved us.>

7. He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.

8. And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

9. And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.

10. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."

11. Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.

12. In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"

13. Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!"

14. The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.
