💙 값을 매길 수 없는 그리스도 안에서의 삶

 
✝  누가복음 15:8-10

"이와 같이 죄인 한 사람이 회개하면 하나님의 사자들 앞에 기쁨이 되느니라" [누가복음 15:10]

잃어버린 결혼반지와 결혼기념 반지를 정신없이 찾고 있는 동안 내 뺨에 눈물이 흘러내리고 있었습니다. 한 시간 정도 소파 쿠션을 들어 올리고 집안 구석구석을 살펴본 후 앨런이 말했습니다. “아쉽지만, 새로 마련하도록 합시다.”

나는 대답했습니다. “고마워요. 하지만 반지 값보다 반지에 담긴 감정의 가치가 훨씬 커요. 다른 것들로 바꿀 수 없어요.” 나는 계속 반지를 찾으면서 하나님께 기도했습니다. “하나님, 제발 반지를 찾게 도와주세요.”

얼마 후 이번 주 초에 입었던 스웨터의 주머니에 손을 넣어보니 거기에 그 귀한 반지들이 있었습니다. 나는 “예수님, 고맙습니다!” 소리를 질렀습니다. 남편과 함께 기뻐하면서 반지를 손에 끼다가 동전 하나를 잃어버린 여인에 대한 비유가 생각났습니다(누가복음 15:8-10). 잃어버린 은화 한 닢을 찾아 헤맸던 여인처럼 나도 잃어버린 것의 가치를 알고 있었습니다. 그 여인이나 나나 귀중품을 찾으려고 한 것이 잘못은 아니었습니다. 예수님은 그분이 창조하신 모든 사람을 구원하시려는 간절한 바람을 강조하시기 위해 단순히 그 이야기를 사용하셨던 것입니다. 죄인 한 사람이 회개하면 하늘에서는 기쁨입니다.

잃어버린 귀중품을 찾게 해달라고 기도하는 것만큼 열정적으로 다른 사람들을 위해 기도하는 사람이 되는 것이 얼마나 큰 선물인지 모릅니다. 그리고 누군가가 회개하고 그들의 삶을 그리스도께 헌신하는 것을 축하해 주는 것도 얼마나 특별한 은혜인지요. 우리가 예수님을 진정 신뢰하고 있다면, 우리를 찾을 만한 가치가 있다고 생각하여 결코 포기하지 않으신 그분께 사랑 받는 기쁨을 누리는 것에 감사하십시오.

당신은 오늘 누구의 구원을 위해 기도하겠습니까? 당신의 간증을 누구와 나누겠습니까?

💙 Priceless Lives In Christ

✝  Luke 15:8-10

"There is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." [ LUKE 15:10 ]

Tears streamed down my cheeks during a frantic search for my lost wedding and anniversary rings. After an hour of lifting couch cushions and scouring every nook and cranny of our home, Alan said, “I’m sorry. We’ll replace them.” “Thanks,” I responded. “But their sentimental value surpasses their material worth. They’re irreplaceable.” Praying, I continued hunting for the jewelry. “Please, God. Help me find them.”

Later, while reaching into the pocket of a sweater worn earlier in the week, I found the priceless jewels. “Thank You, Jesus!” I exclaimed. As my husband and I rejoiced, I slipped on the rings and recalled the parable of the woman who lost a coin (LUKE 15:8.10). Like the woman who searched for her lost silver coin, I knew the worth of what had been lost. Neither of us was wrong for wanting to find our valuables. Jesus simply used that story to emphasize His desire to save every person He created. One sinner repenting results in a celebration in heaven.

What a gift it would be to become a person who prays as passionately for others as we pray for lost treasures to be found. What a privilege it is to celebrate when someone repents and surrenders their lives to Christ. If we’ve placed our trust in Jesus, we can be thankful we’ve experienced the joy of being loved by Someone who never gave up because He thought we were worth finding. XOCHITL DIXON

8.  "Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9.  And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, `Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' 10.  In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
