“예수께서 이르시되 내 말이 네가 믿으면 하나님의 영광을 보리라 하지 아니하였느냐 하시니”[요한복음 11:40]

블로거였던 케빈 린의 삶은 무너져 내리는 듯 보였습니다. 최근 어떤 글에서 그는 이렇게 회고했습니다. “나는 실제로 총을 내 머리에 겨누었습니다. 그런데 그 순간, 하나님께서 초자연적으로 내 방과 내 삶으로 들어오셨습니다. 그리고 그때, 내가 지금 하나님이라 믿고 있는 분을 만났습니다.” 하나님이 개입하셔서 린이 극단적인 선택을 하지 않도록 하신 것입니다. 
하나님은 린의 마음에 확신이 들게 하셨고 하나님께서 사랑으로 함께 하신다는 확실한 사실을 깨닫게 해 주셨습니다. 
린은 이 강렬했던 만남을 숨기지 않고 유튜브 사역을 시작하여 자신의 변화된 삶과 다른 사람들의 이야기를 공유하고 있습니다.

예수님을 따르는 친구였던 나사로가 죽었을 때 많은 사람들이 예수님께서 너무 늦게 도착하셨다고 생각했습니다(요한복음 11:32). 나사로는 예수님이 도착하시기 전에 이미 죽어서 나흘 동안이나 무덤 안에 있었습니다. 하지만 예수님께서는 죽은 나사로를 살리심으로 그 비통한 시간을 기적으로 바꾸셨습니다(38절). “네가 믿으면 하나님의 영광을 보리라 하지 아니하였느냐”(40절).
예수님이 나사로를 죽음에서 생명으로 일으키신 것처럼, 우리에게도 주님을 통해 새 생명을 주겠다고 하십니다. 자기 자신을 십자가에 희생 하심으로, 예수님은 우리의 죗값을 치르셨고 우리가 그 은혜의 선물을 받아들이는 대가로 우리를 용서하시겠다고 하십니다. 우리는 죄의 굴레에서 벗어나 자유롭게 되었고, 그분의 영원한 사랑으로 새롭게 되어 삶의 진로를 바꾸는 기회를 얻었습니다.

38. 이에 예수께서 다시 속으로 비통히 여기시며 무덤에 가시니 무덤이 굴이라 돌로 막았거늘
39. 예수께서 이르시되 돌을 옮겨 놓으라 하시니 그 죽은 자의 누이 마르다가 이르되 주여 죽은 지가 나흘이 되었으매 벌써 냄새가 나나이다
40. 예수께서 이르시되 내 말이 네가 믿으면 하나님의 영광을 보리라 하지 아니하였느냐 하시니
41. 돌을 옮겨 놓으니 예수께서 눈을 들어 우러러 보시고 이르시되 아버지여 내 말을 들으신 것을 감사하나이다
42. 항상 내 말을 들으시는 줄을 내가 알았나이다 그러나 이 말씀 하옵는 것은 둘러선 무리를 위함이니 곧 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것을 그들로 믿게 하려 함이니이다
43. 이 말씀을 하시고 큰 소리로 나사로야 나오라 부르시니
44. 죽은 자가 수족을 베로 동인 채로 나오는데 그 얼굴은 수건에 싸였더라 예수께서 이르시되 풀어 놓아 다니게 하라 하시니라

“Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”[ JOHN 11:40 ]

Blogger Kevin Lynn’s life seemed to be falling apart. In a recent article he recounted, “I actually put a gun to my head It took for God to supernaturally step into my room and my life. And at that moment, I really found what I know is God now.” God intervened and prevented Lynn from taking his life. He filled him with conviction and gave him an overwhelming reminder of His loving presence. Instead of hiding this powerful encounter, Lynn shared his experience with the world, creating a YouTube ministry where he shares his own transformation story as well as the stories of others.

When Jesus’ follower and friend Lazarus died, many assumed that Jesus was too late (JOHN 11:32). Lazarus had been in his tomb for four days before Christ arrived, but He turned this moment of anguish into a miracle when He raised him from the dead (V. 38). “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” (V. 40).
Just as Jesus raised Lazarus from death to life, He offers us new life through Him. By sacrificing His life on the cross,  Christ paid the penalty for our sins and offers us forgiveness when we accept His gift of grace. We’re freed from the bondage of our sins, renewed by His everlasting love, and given the opportunity to change the course of our lives.

39. Jesus *said, "Remove the stone." Martha, the sister of the deceased, *said to Him, "Lord, by this time there will be a stench, for he has been [dead] four days."
40. Jesus *said to her, "Did I not say to you, if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"
41. And so they removed the stone. And Jesus raised His eyes, and said, "Father, I thank Thee that Thou heardest Me.
42. "And I knew that Thou hearest Me always; but because of the people standing around I said it, that they may believe that Thou didst send Me."
43. And when He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, " Lazarus, come forth. "
44. He who had died came forth, bound hand and foot with wrappings; and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus *said to them, "Unbind him, and let him go."
