진정한 소망(GENUINE HOPE)

💙 진정한 소망

 ✝  베드로전서 1:3 - 1:9

“ 예수 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 부활하게 하심으로 말미암아 우리를 거듭나게 하사 산 소망이 있게 하시며 “ [베드로전서 1:3] 

1960년대 초 미국은 밝은 미래에 대한 기대감으로 가득 차 있었습니다. 젊은 대통령 존 에프 케네디가 뉴프런티어(신개척운동), 평화봉사단, 그리고 달 탐사 과업을 제시했던 것입니다. 번영하는 경제로 많은 사람들은 미래가 단지 “좋은 시간만 지속될” 것으로 낙관하였습니다.

그러다가 베트남전쟁이 확산되고, 국가적인 불안정이 닥치며, 케네디가 암살당하고, 이전의 낙관적인 사회에서 통용되어 온 규범들이 무너졌습니다. 낙관주의만으로는 충분하지 않았으며, 그 결과 환멸이 만연하게 되었습니다.

그때, 1967년 신학자 위르겐 몰트만의 ‘희망의 신학’은 보다 명확한 비전을 보여주었습니다. 이 길은 낙관주의의 길이 아니라 희망의 길이었습니다. 이 둘은 같지 않습니다. 몰트만은 낙관주의는 현재 상황에 근거하고 있지만, 희망은 우리의 상황과 관계없이 하나님의 신실하심에 뿌리를 두고 있다고 단언했습니다.

이 희망의 근원이 무엇일까요? 베드로는 이렇게 썼습니다. “우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지 하나님을 찬송하리로다 그의 많으신 긍휼대로 예수 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 부활하게 하심으로 말미암아 우리를 거듭나게 하사 산 소망이 있게 하시며”(베드로전서 1:3).

우리의 신실하신 하나님은 그분의 아들 예수님을 통해 죽음을 정복하셨습니다!

모든 승리 중 가장 큰 이 승리로 말미암아 우리는 매일 그리고 모든 상황에서 단순한 낙관주의가 아닌 강하고 견고한 소망을 향해 넘어섭니다.

당신이 낙관주의자이든 비관주의자이든, 현재 어떤 상황들이 걱정됩니까?

희망이 낙관론이나 비관론보다 나은 이유는 무엇일까요?

<하나님, 이 세상은 고통스럽고 혼란스럽습니다. 그리고 많은 목소리가 저를 희망이 없어 보인다는 관점으로 이끌어 갑니다. 미래를 주관하시는 예수님의 부활의 약속과 능력 안에 제 마음이 뿌리내릴 수 있게 도와주소서.>

3. ○우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지 하나님을 찬송하리로다 그의 많으신 긍휼대로 예수 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 부활하게 하심으로 말미암아 우리를 거듭나게 하사 산 소망이 있게 하시며 4. 썩지 않고 더럽지 않고 쇠하지 아니하는 유업을 잇게 하시나니 곧 너희를 위하여 하늘에 간직하신 것이라 5. 너희는 말세에 나타내기로 예비하신 구원을 얻기 위하여 믿음으로 말미암아 하나님의 능력으로 보호하심을 받았느니라 6. 그러므로 너희가 이제 여러 가지 시험으로 말미암아 잠깐 근심하게 되지 않을 수 없으나 오히려 크게 기뻐하는도다 7. 너희 믿음의 확실함은 불로 연단하여도 없어질 금보다 더 귀하여 예수 그리스도께서 나타나실 때에 칭찬과 영광과 존귀를 얻게 할 것이니라 8. 예수를 너희가 보지 못하였으나 사랑하는도다 이제도 보지 못하나 믿고 말할 수 없는 영광스러운 즐거움으로 기뻐하니 9. 믿음의 결국 곧 영혼의 구원을 받음이라

 

💙 GENUINE HOPE

 ✝  1 Peter 1:3 - 1:9

He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

In the early 1960s, the US was filled with anticipation of a bright future. Youthful President John F. Kennedy had introduced the New Frontier, the Peace Corps, and the task of reaching the moon.

A thriving economy caused many people to expect the future to simply “let the good times roll.” Then the war in Vietnam escalated, national unrest unfolded, Kennedy was assassinated, and the accepted norms of that previously optimistic society were dismantled. Optimism simply wasn’t enough, and in its wake, disillusionment prevailed.

Then, in 1967, theologian Jürgen Moltmann’s A Theology of Hope pointed to a clearer vision. This path wasn’t the way of optimism but the way of hope. The two aren’t the same thing. Moltmann affirmed that optimism is based on the circumstances of the moment, but hope is rooted in God’s faithfulness—regardless of our situation.

What’s the source of this hope?

Peter wrote, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 PETER 1:3).

Our faithful God has conquered death through His Son, Jesus! The reality of this greatest of all victories lifts us beyond mere optimism to a strong, robust hope—every day and in every circumstance. BILL CROWDER

<God, this world is distressing and confusing, and many voices want to drive me to a perspective that feels void of hope. Help me to root my heart in the promise and power of the resurrection of Jesus, who holds the future.>

3. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living      hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4. and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade -- kept in heaven for you, 5. who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7. These have come so that your faith -- of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire -- may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are    filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9. for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
