"Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea; then they went out into the Wilderness of Shur."
(Exodus 15:22)

On the other side of every miraculous intervention by God on our behalf, there is a road of faith to travel. Whether God's power has touched our health, finances, or family relationships, we must not only praise and thank the Lord but obey Him as well.

After God opened the Red Sea for His people, then released the waters to overwhelm Pharaoh's pursuing army, there was a great celebration of praise to the Lord (Exodus 15:1-21).
But then it was time to move on in the journey toward the land of promise. "So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea; then they went out into the Wilderness of Shur" (v.22). There they traveled for 3 days without finding water, and they began to complain.

In the divine plan, supernatural intervention is not an end in itself, but it is a means of teaching us that we can always trust and obey the leadership of Almighty God. Will we listen to His voice and obey His Word? If He leads us through the sea, will He not also guide us to a well?

The stunning events recorded in Exodus show that it's possible to experience God's power yet remain spiritually unchanged.
To keep that from happening to us, let's use the sweet memory of yesterday's miracle to encourage a bigger step of faith today.

 기적 이후의 삶

“모세가 홍해에서 이스라엘을 인도하매 그들이 나와서 수르 광야로 들어가서”
(출애굽기 15:22)

● 말씀을 생각하며 ●
우리를 위해 하나님께서 기적을 행하시고 간섭하신 어떤 일이 있을 때에 그 다음에는 반드시 우리가 믿음으로 걸어가야 할 길이 놓여 있습니다.
하나님의 능력이 우리의 건강이나 재산이나 가족관계에 임하셨다면 우리는 주님께 찬양과 감사를 드릴 뿐만 아니라 또한 순종해야 합니다.

하나님이 그의 백성들을 위하여 홍해를 갈라놓으셨다가 바로의 추격하는 군대들을 바닷물을 터놓아 덮어버렸을 때 하나님을 향한 큰 찬양의 축제가 있었습니다(출 15:1-21).
그러나 곧 약속의 땅을 향하여 계속 나아가야 할 때가 왔습니다. “모세가 홍해에서 이스라엘을 인도하매 그들이 나와서 수르 광야로 들어갔다”(22절)고 하였습니다. 그들은 거기서 사흘 길을 행하였으나 물을 얻지 못하여 불평을 하기 시작했습니다.

하나님의 계획안에서 초자연적인 간섭은 그 자체가 목적이 아니라 우리가 전능하신 하나님의 인도하심을 언제나 믿고 순종할 수 있다는 것을 우리에게 가르치시는 하나의 수단입니다.
우리는 하나님의 음성에 귀를 기울이고 그 말씀에 순종하려 합니까?
바다를 통과하여 우리를 인도하신 하나님이라면 또한 우리를 샘이 있는 곳으로 인도하지 않으시겠습니까?

출애굽기에 기록된 이 놀라운 사건은 하나님의 능력을 경험한 사람이라도 영적으로는 변화되지 않을 수 있다는 것을 보여줍니다. 이런 일이 우리에게 생기지 않게 하기 위하여 우리는 전에 있었던 멋진 기적의 기억을 오늘의 더 큰 믿음의 걸음을 내딛는데 사용합시다.

● 오늘의 묵상 ●
우리는 때로 기적을 경험할 때에
하나님에 대한 믿음이 살아납니다.
그러나 우리 삶 속에서 늘 역사하시는
하나님의 은혜의 손길을 보아야 합니다.
