 Unforgivable?

"He who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness." (Mark 3:29 )

An elderly man thought he had committed the unpardonable sin. Overwhelmed with guilt, he mistakenly thought he had done something that God would not forgive.

Then a question came to his mind: If I am headed for hell, what would I want to do there? He thought, I would want to meet with others for prayer. Immediately he saw the absurdity of his fears. He knew that years earlier he had trusted Christ as his Savior, and he had a desire to know and please God. This was evidence that God's Spirit truly lived in his heart.

Many sensitive Christians fear they have done or said something that is beyond forgiveness. Maybe it was a blasphemous thought that crossed their mind. Even though they confessed it to God, they wonder if they have committed the one sin that God will not forgive.

What is the unpardonable sin? In Mark 3:22-30, we read that religious leaders accused Jesus of performing miracles by the power of Satan. We can't sin that way today, because Jesus isn't physically here on the earth.

The only unforgivable sin is to continually and willfully reject the witness of the Holy Spirit that Jesus is the Savior. Nothing but complete rejection of Christ is unpardonable. He graciously forgives all who come to Him. - Dennis De Haan

 용서받지 못할 죄?

“누구든지 성령을 훼방하는 자는 사하심을 영원히 얻지 못하고”
( 마가복음 3:29)

● 말씀을 묵상하며 ●
자기는 용서받지 못할 죄를 지었다고 생각하는 노인이 있었습니다. 죄의식에 눌려온 그는 하나님도 용서하시지 못할 일을 저질렀다고 잘못 생각했습니다.

그런데 그의 마음에 의문이 하나 생겼습니다. ‘만약에 내가 지옥에 간다면 거기서 나는 무엇을 하고자 할까?’ 그는 ‘다른 사람들과 만나서 기도하려 하겠지’하고 생각했습니다. 그 순간 그는 자기의 두려움이 어리석은 것이라는 것을 깨달았습니다. 그보다 여러해 전에 자기가 그리스도를 자신의 구주로 받아들였고 마음속에 하나님을 알고 기쁘시게 하고자 하는 마음이 있었다는 것을 알았습니다. 이것은 바로 성령께서 그의 가슴속에 진정으로 살아 계신다는 증거였습니다.

민감한 그리스도인들 중에는 자신이 용서 받지 못할 말이나 행동을 했다고 두려워 하는 사람이 많습니다. 그것은 예를 들어 언뜻 자기의 마음을 스쳐간 하나님에 대한 모독적인 생각 같은 것일 수 있습니다. 그들은 하나님 앞에 참회를 하고 나서도 하나님이 용서 못하실 죄를 하나라도 저지른 것은 아닌가하고 생각하기도 합니다.

무엇이 용서받지 못할 죄인가요? 마가복음 3:22-30에 종교 지도자들은 예수님이 사탄의 힘으로 기적을 행한다고 비난하였다고 기록되어 있습니다. 오늘날에는 예수님이 육신으로 이 세상에 계시지 않기 때문에 우리가 그런 식으로 죄를 범할 수는 없습니다.

용서받지 못할 단 한가지 죄가 있다면 예수님이 구주라는 성령의 증거를 계속적으로 또 고의적으로 거부하는 것입니다. 그리스도를 전적으로 거부하는 것 외에는 용서받지 못할 것이 없습니다. 그분은 그에게로 오는 모든 사람들을 그의 은혜로 용서하십니다.

용서받지 못할 죄는 없습니다.
모든 죄의 값은 십자가 위에서 치루어졌습니다.
오직 심령이 강퍅한 사람들만
영원한 멸망의 길을 선택합니다.
