It's For Sure!(확실한 것 한 가지)

  It's For Sure!

 
"If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself that where I am, there you may be also. "
(John 14:3)

Before our second child was born, my wife and I attended a childbirth class offered by the hospital. During the course we watched a film designed to relieve the fears of expectant parents. All of us had questions like: When will the labor begin? Will there be plenty of time to get to the hospital? Will the delivery be hard? And what about our baby? Will it be a boy or a girl? Will it be large or small? Will it be healthy? The narrator then summed it up like this: "Yes, there are so many questions left unanswered. But one thing is for sure: You will deliver. You will give birth!" The class laughed. One thing was certain the baby would come.The experience reminded me of the Lord's second coming. We have so many questions about it. What will it be like? Will it be a startling experience? Will we be happy when we see Jesus? Where will we be when it occurs? Will we be living, or will we be among those who are raised from the dead? Yes, as we anticipate the birth of that new day, there are many unanswered questions. But one thing is for sure?He is coming! That is why we should prepare ourselves through faith, hope, and love (1 Thessalonians 5:8). Then we will be ready for the blessed event.

 확실한 것 한가지!

“가서 너희를 위하여 처소를 예비하면 내가 다시 와 서 너희를 내게로 영접하여 나 있는 곳에 너희도 있게 하리라” (요한복음 14:3)

● 말씀을 생각하며 ●
우리집 둘째 아이가 태어나기 전 아내와 나는 병원에서 실시하는 아기분만에 관한 강의에 참석했습니다. 수업 중에 우리는 부모가 될 사람들의 두려움을 덜어 주기 위해 만든 영화를 보았습니다. 참석한 모두에게는 다음과 같은 궁금증이 있었습니다. 진통은 언제 시 작될까? 병원에 갈 시간은 충분할까? 분만이 힘들까? 그리고 우리 아기는 어떨까? 아들일까 딸일까? 아이가 클까 작을까? 건강할까? 설명을 해주는 사람은 다음과 같이 요약하여 말했습니다. “그렇습니다. 확실하게 대답해 드릴 수 없는 질문들이 너무나 많습니다. 그러나 한가지는 확실합니다. 여러분은 분만을 합니다. 그리고 아기는 태어납니다!” 사람들이 다 웃었습니다. 한가지 확실한 것은 아기가 태어난다는 것입니다.
그 일은 나에게 주님의 재림을 상기시켜 주었습니다. 우리는 재림에 관하여 많은 의문을 가지고 있습니다. 과연 어떤 것일까? 깜짝 놀랄만한 체험일까? 예수님을 만나면 기쁠까? 주님이 재림하실 때 우리는 어디에 있을까? 우리는 살아있을까, 아니면 죽은 자 가운데서 일어날까? 그렇습니다. 우리가 그 새 날이 오는 것을 생각해볼 때 대답할 수 없는 질문들이 많이 있습니다.  그러나 한가지 확실한 것은 주님이 오신다는 것입니다! 그것이 바로 우리가 믿음, 소망, 사랑으로 준비하고 있어야 하는 이유입니다 (살전 5:8). 그리하면 우리는 복된 재림을 맞이할 준비가 되어 있는 것입니다.

● 오늘의 묵상 ●
우리가 전하는 놀라운 메시지가 있습니다. 우리가 부르는 영광의 축가가 있습니다. 왕이 하신 놀라운 말씀이 있습니다. 그것은 바로 예수님이 다시 오신다는 말씀입니다.
